Three days long Training of Trainers (ToT) on Human-Elephant Coexistence was conducted in Koshi Tappu Widlife Reserve during December 6 - 8, 2020. The glimpses of the program is available here in the series of 11 video clips.

Training of Trainers on Human-Elephant Coexistence conducted

Three days long Training of Trainers (ToT) on Human-Elephant Coexistence was conducted in Koshi Tappu Widlife Reserve during December 6 - 8, 2020. A total of 20 participants completed the training.


The training was part of the project "Assess Human-Elephant Conflict and Develop Human-Elephant Coexistence Through Community Awareness in Eastern Nepal" supported by the Rufford Small Grants

Radio Jingle on Human Elephant Co-existence in Eastern Nepal

Two radio jingles one in Nepali language and other in local Maithili language has been produced and being broadcasted through three FM stations in Saptari, Sunsari and Jhapa.

Radio message on Human-Elephant Co-existence

Two radio jingles one in Nepali language and other in local Bhaojpuri language was produced and broadcasted on local Sangam FM of Kolvi, Bara during entire winter season (From October 2016 to February 2017). This is the peak season of elephants entering into the villages and causing the damage. The Jingle was broadcasted  particularly during evening time when elephant is likely to enter into the villages.

Brochure Human-Elphant Co-existence in Nepali

A brochure on Human Elephant Co-existence in Nepal has been developed and distributed widely in the project area as well as other parts of the country. The brochure covers the elephant ecology, causes of conflict and responsible action towards elephants when they are in the village. It focuses particularly on the important and practical actions to avoid any human casualty. The brochure has high graphics and easily understandable to the people even if they cannot read.
